What real estate licensing classes do you offer?
Embarking on a career in California real estate begins with a crucial step: completing three foundational classes – Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and Legal Aspects of Real Estate. We are proud to partner with ADHI Schools, a leading educational provider renowned for their exceptional quality and commitment to student success in real estate education. Their comprehensive online program offers not only the required licensing courses but also thorough exam preparation, ensuring you are well-prepared for your real estate journey.

The beauty of this partnership lies in the flexibility it offers. You can start your courses at any time, making it easier to integrate this important education into your busy schedule. ADHI Schools' program is meticulously designed to cater to your learning pace and style, enabling you to absorb and retain the critical knowledge needed for a successful career in real estate. With  ADHI Schools, you're not just taking classes; you're setting the foundation for a thriving career in the real estate industry.
What happens when I’m done with licensing school?
After completing licensing school, you will be ready to begin the state application process. You will send your application through eLicensing and register for the California real estate exam.
What is the California real estate state exam like?
Salesperson Exam: 3 hours. 150 multiple-choice questions.
  • The examinations are given in a multiple-choice format. Answers are selected from four choices.
  • To pass the examination, you must correctly answer at least 70% of the questions.
  • Examinations are conducted in Fresno, La Palma, Oakland, Sacramento and San Diego. All exams are currently offered in an electronic format

And the moment you pass your state exam and receive your license number, you'll be enrolled in our renowned Power Curve training program. This is where your career truly takes off. Does First Team provide training once I’m licensed?
Yes! Our 2-week Power Curve training covers the most important aspects of getting started with your career at First Team, including setting goals, leveraging our tools, and mastering the Listing Presentation. New agents then move onto Power Curve Plus, an additional 6-week online course designed to guide you further in establishing your personal business. We also offer ongoing, advanced training workshops where we dive deeper into proven sales strategies, industry technology, and best practices.
Will there be guidance offered during and after Power Curve?
Yes! Our commitment to you is to help grow your business systematically and measurably while helping improve your quality of life by coaching you to work smarter not harder. Our offices have non-competing Branch Managers to coach and help you build your business.
What is the cost of starting a career in real estate?
  • Real Estate Classes: Contact The CE Shop for current pricing.
  • Desktop appraisal fee that ranges from $175-$225
  • State Exam: $60 (paid to the state of CA/DRE)
  • License Fee: $245 (paid to the state of CA/DRE)
  • Live Scan Fingerprinting Service: Approx $60 (varies by location)
  • Association of Realtors and local MLS Fees: Ranges from $300-$850
    - Prorated depending on the time of year you join and the local board      
    - Payable in 4 payments
  • Additional fees once you hang your license with a broker (fees vary by broker):
    - Errors and Omission (E&O) Insurance      
    - Marketing & Advertising      
    - Office Space including desk, phone, supplies & other miscellaneous
